Used to be a lot more fun before the DotCom age, in my opinion. Crowds have
ruined this city. But I still have one must-do, and one must-avoid...
- Place to Eat: 125th Street Grill
We used to like Seattle a lot more before the Dotcom Age... but for what's
still around, this place RULES. There's nothing fancy about 125th Street Grill
(Aurora and 125th in northern Seattle) and you'll see it frequented by older
folks, but the food here is outstanding. THE BEST onion rings I've ever had in
my life. Their creme brulee ranks up there, too. Everything here is GOOD.
- Thing to avoid: the freeway!!
The traffic here in the worst I've ever seen... yes, even compared to SillyCon
Valley. You see, the difference here: no public transporation. At all.
Except for a silly little two-stop train downtown. It once took me (summer
2002) 6 hours to traverse 80 miles of freeway and local roads. Far too crowded
for its resources...
